We only stayed one night but found the staff pleasant and very helpful for strangers to Zurich. Room basic but very clean - nice little bar/breakfast room.

very good hotel situated ion the Red Light District

The hotel was well-run and efficient, and the location, though convenient, is in the red-light district of Zurich, with all of the expected characters including drunks and street-prowling prostitutes and the their customers. Their presence was not issue for us, but the resulting noise was a problem.
The street side rooms should be provided with earplugs for all guests. The shouting drunks and street conversations are constant throughout the night, literally until daylight. The windows are double-pained and very effective in keeping out the noise, but if it is at all warm, you need to have the window open, making it very difficult to sleep. In summery: this hotel would be great in the winter and cooler months, but in summer you will want to insist on a room away from the street.

Location and the staff.
Expensive but when we compare with other hotels in Zurich it's still expenive but not too much. Area is full of working girls at night.

The downstairs bar is a very pleasant place to relax and have a beer.
Despite its attractive old-world exterior, the hotel resembles a prison inside. Possibly the most depressing interior design I have ever encountered in a hotel.

For the price, a fairly good hotel.
No cudboards, tea and coffee etc

Friendly staff and relative proximity to railway station. The room was clean (alhough someone had been obviously smoking there before me, so I had to keep window open)
Very noisy neighbourhood during evening and night, full of dirty bars and sex shops. The elevator stops between floors and you have to take stairs

in an expensive city like zurich, i was amazed at the quality of this hotel for the price. we paid about the amount three people would pay for a hostel in zurich, however we ended up with an adorable hotel with a great staff, and right in the middle of everything. i would definitely receommend this hotel.

Close to main railroad station (streets are not so nice on your way, but it's just 15 min walk). If you interested to live in the center of the city night life (with strip clubs, bars, red lights) - this is for you. If you do no worry about noise in the night and reasonable price is you target - this is for you too (about 20 min walk to the old city).
Place is noisy in the night especially in weekends. Hotel ask money for all your stay upfront. For some reasons my visa which was ok everywhere does not work at this hotel. Place may not look safe for some people (depends on your experience :) Definitely not for romance or family trips.

Not much, just a place to sleep for budget. You get what you paid.
For budget travellers who wanted to walk from train station, it takes about 25-30mins to reach. The hotel's lift only serve 2nd and 4th floor, not recommended for those with heavy luggages. Small lobby space.

This hotel is mainly for backpackers in a dodgy noisy area of Zurich
